USVI Powerlifting    Federation

Welcome to our site!!

As an IPF Member nation, the USVIPF follows the IPF's technical rules, which can be found on the IPF website

Some of these rules are more intended to be applied at IPF World Championships and other international events, not at events within each nation, so this page of rule exceptions has been created.

All Rule Exceptions will be listed below that are applicable to USVIPF meets. If not listed here, the IPF technical rulebook will take precedence.

"21 Days" Rule
The USVIPF will follow the "21 Days" Rule, for National and Regional Championships Only. IPF rules state that competitors may not change their nominated weight and age class within 21 days of the event, meaning that you cannot lift if you do not make that weight class. At any other USVIPF contest in the U.S. Virgin Islands the USVIPF does not observe this, weight or age classes may be changed at any time, including following the weigh-in.
