⁃As a member of USVIPF, you are required to attend the USVIPF National Championships and participate in one of the qualifying capacities (athlete, referee, coach/team member handler, meet volunteer) to compete at any IPF and/or NAPF calendar meets for that respective year, i.e. Coach/Handle at 2022 USVIPF Nationals to compete at 2022 IPF Masters World Championships. Please be advised if you participate as a non-athlete at the USVIPF National Championships (and expect to compete at an IPF Calendar event), you must already have a qualifying international total within the last 12 months of the preliminary nominations of the next of IPF calendar event you want to register for as an athlete.
** You will only be allowed to use that total to compete in an international competition of the same age division, ie 2022 Junior Worlds applied towards 2023 Junior Worlds. The total cannot be used to cross divisions, ie Open to Masters or vice versa**.
- Exceptions - USVIPF members currently stationed in the US military overseas and/or invited to the World Games, and/or SBD Sheffield Meet may use their qualifying international total to meet the below criteria.
Criteria for selection in priority order :
1) The highest class total (in a weight class and division, i.e. 63kg - Open, 93kg- Jr.) achieved at an IPF calendar event (international) and/or USVIPF Nationals per respective age/weight class/equipment division will be awarded the first choice to compete at a World and or other international Championship (within 12 months of achieving that respective total).
-- For example, if you lifted at 2021 USVIPF Nationals and/or 2021 IPF or NAPF calendar event in the 93kg M1 Division you would earn a slot for 2022 IPF and/or NAPF calendar events (as long as the preliminary nominations for that 2022 IPF and/or NAPF is before the date you competed at the qualifying 2021 USVIPF Nationals and/or 2021 IPF or NAPF calendar event) and you have the highest total in the 93kg M1 Division.
2) If there is an additional slot(s) available in the weight class of a lifter with the highest total the next slot goes to the most recent national champion of that weight class/age division. If there are several national champions in this position, then those national champions will be ranked based on IPF GL points and the national champion with the highest GL points will get the next slot, followed by the next national champion with the second highest GL points, and etc..
3) If the lifter with the highest class total in a respective age/weight class/equipment division and/or the national champion in that weight class choose not to accept their world team slots then all remaining USVIPF federation lifters in that respective age division (Open, SJ, JR, and M1-M4) will be placed in an alternate pool (for each age division (Open, SJ, JR, and M1-M4) based on IPF GL Formula (and the next highest ranking for GL points regardless of weight class) will fill additional world team slots.
4) Guest lifters
